2016 promises to be THE YEAR of the super heroes.
Let’s take a look at the roster of the most anticipated movies coming off the shelf.
Release date: Feb. 12
Who’s in: Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein
Story Plot: Based on one of Marvel’s most contoversial “Hero”, it tells of how Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) turn to an experiment in an attempt to cure his cancer. The end result left him with a disfigured skin, accelerated healing powers as well as an unstable mind. Deadpool then sets off to hunt down the very man who nearly ruin his life.
BATMAN VS Superman: Dawn of Justice
Release date: March 25
Who’s in: Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams
Story Plot: Who wouldn’t love to see all three trinity of Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman in action together? And we don’t mean they fight TOGETHER, but also AGAINST each other. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will tell the story of Gotham City vigilante Batman traveling to Metropolis to take on the man of steel Superman, and while they are at war, a new menace will arise that threatens to end mankind.
Captain America: Civil War
Release date: May 6
Who’s in: Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson
Story Plot: It you had read the Marvel comics of the Civil war story arc, you would have realized the gigantic scope of this plot. Despite super heroes saving the day, they created a lot of damages as well, and in Captain America: Civil War, it involves the point where a governing body and a system of accountability is being implemented to oversight mutants and heroes. This lead to a split in the Avengers while they face new villain. You will also get to see other new Marvel characters such as the Black Panther, who will also have his own exclusive movie later in 2018.

Who’s in: Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Oscar Isaac
Story Plot: The X-Men takes on the first and most powerful mutant, Apocalypse, who is awakened after thousand of years. Similar to the Marvel comic series, Apocalypse (aka En Sabah Nur), whose roots trace back to ancient Egypt, forms his Four Horsemen consisting of elite mutants such as Magneto, Storm, Psylocke and Angel to “purge” humanity and create a new order.

Who’s in: Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman
Story Plot: A total opposite from Avengers, Suicide Squad consist of a team filled with supervillains such as Joker, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Katana, Enchantress, Captain Boomerang, and many others. The irony is, Suicide Squad (aka Task Force X) is setup by a secret government agency, where these members are recruited and meant to execute highly dangerous missions in exchange for shorter prison sentences.
